                          Player Contract Negotiation


Aston Villa Plc announces that it has agreed terms subject to contract
negotiation and medical examination for the transfer of the registration of
player goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen from Sunderland AFC.  The transfer fee is
undisclosed and the player will enter into a personal contract until 30 June
2006.  The parties expect to complete the transaction by close of business
today.
