The Webby Awards, the leading international honor for Web sites, named the NYTimes.com as a People’s Voice winner in the “Best Newspaper Web site” category. Avenue A | Razorfish (NASDAQ:AQNT) and its creative team helped with the concept redesign of the award-winning site. Winners will be honored by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences at the 11th Annual Webby Awards in New York City June 3 - 5, 2007. To recreate the new look and feel of the NYTimes.com it was critical to maintain and highlight the editorial standards loyal NYTimes.com readers were accustomed to viewing, while adding innovative, interactive features. The creative team set out to deliver a “front page” news experience, while engaging users of the site to look beyond the front page to other useful tools and content. “The Webby Awards honors the outstanding work that is setting the standards for the Internet,” said David-Michel Davies, executive director of The Webby Awards. “The NYTimes.com winning selection is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of its creators.” “The Webbys highlight our industry’s best and brightest and we’re honored to be included in that prestigious group,” said Pete Stein, senior vice president and general manager, Avenue A | Razorfish East Region. “Our goal was to help design a Web site that was innovative and easy for NYTimes.com users to navigate, while leveraging the latest in Web 2.0 technology.” In addition, Avenue A | Razorfish garnered two official honoree nominations for its Web development work for XMRadio.com in the Radio category and StoptheFlu.org in the Health category. Over the last 14 months, Avenue A | Razorfish has tripled the size of its creative studio on Times Square to ramp up on new projects like the NYTimes.com site, as well as major Web designs for XMRadio.com and Condé Nast’s Portfolio.com. Recently the agency landed three celebrated Creative Directors, including Brook Lundy, who was also honored with a Webby award this year for his work for Philips Norelco Bodygroom (www.shaveeverywhere.com). This year, The Webby Awards received a record 8,000 entries from more than 60 countries and all 50 states.
