Apropos Technology Adds New Director and Appoints Chairman 


OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill., July 15  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Apropos Technology
(NASDAQ:APRS), a leading provider of call center communication management
solutions, today announced the appointment of Stephen E. Webb as an additional
director of the Company.  Mr. Webb will serve as the Chairman of the Company's
Audit Committee.  The Company also announced the appointment of director Donald
DeLoach as Chairman of the Board, a non-executive position. Prior to Mr.
DeLoach's appointment, the post of chairman was not held by a specific
director.

Mr. Webb has over twenty years of experience in senior and executive management
positions in high-technology companies.  Prior to joining the Apropos board of
directors, Mr. Webb served as Chief Financial Officer for HealtheTech, Inc., a
Nasdaq-listed medical device company.  Previously, he served as Senior Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer for New Era of Networks, Inc., a
publicly-traded enterprise software company, from December 1996 until its
acquisition by Sybase, Inc., in 2001.  Prior to joining New Era of Networks,
Mr. Webb served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
Telectronics Pacing Systems, Inc., a medical device company, which was later
acquired by St. Jude Medical.  Mr. Webb holds a B.A. in Psychology from
Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.  Mr. Webb is
qualified as an audit committee financial expert as defined by the rules of the
SEC.

Mr. DeLoach has been a director of the Company since 2003.  Mr. DeLoach is
Chief Executive Officer and President of Aleri Group Inc., a vector-based
information engine software provider since April 2002. Previously, he served as
President and CEO of YOUcentric, a provider of customer relationship software,
from July 1999 to November 2001.
