Martin + Osa Opens at Bellevue Square

SEATTLE, April 9  /PRNewswire/ -- Martin + Osa is proud to announce the opening of its store at Bellevue Square, Bellevue, Washington.

Martin + Osa is a newly launched retail apparel brand for women and men, ages 25-40 that fuses classic, sport + denim to create modern clothes through a mix of sport + luxury, comfort + fashion, sophistication + active.

This season, sport-inspired pieces include a cashmere racer-back tank, chino tennis shorts, and Italian nylon military anorak.  By pairing these items with classic wardrobe staples such as a long cashmere cardigan and wovens in traditional haberdashery checks and stripes, the look is distinctly Martin + Osa.

Martin + Osa also offers a selective collection of accessories including espadrilles by Castner, Sue London ballet flats, Havianas flip-flops, Converse and Adidas sneakers, Ray Ban and Blinde sunglasses and Suunto watches.  The store also carries Filson bags distressed exclusively for Martin + Osa.

The communal table, located at the center of the store, encourages customers to explore numerous books and travel must-haves such as Lomography cameras and Propeline skin care products.

The brand is inspired by the mettle of Martin and Osa Johnson, who defied convention by leaving their home in Kansas to explore Africa and the South Pacific in the 1920s.  This stylish couple documented their journeys via lecture, photography, films and books.  Martin + Osa caters to those who possess a similar adventurous spirit.

While Martin + Osa's clothes are the undoubted heroes of this brand, the unconventional store décor invites customers in and encourages them to explore. The store, designed by Michael Neumann Architects, features a windowless American Cypress façade with an artisinal blue glass sign. Customers enter through a spacious portal, which opens up to a warm space constructed with oxidized steel, rose quartz, and a sadler tile.

Martin + Osa extends the boutique experience to music.  Every season, Martin + Osa works with music industry insiders to curate the M+O GoodMusic(TM) list, an eclectic mix of new music and classics.  The GoodMusic(TM) list is featured on its website (martinandosa.com/goodmusic), and is now available for download on iTunes.

Martin + Osa has stores in Tysons Corner (McLean, VA), NorthPark Center (Dallas, TX), Fashion Island (Newport Beach, CA), San Francisco Westfield Centre (San Francisco, CA), Mall of America (Minneapolis, MN), Westfield Center (Chicago, IL), and the Domain (Austin, TX).

An additional 12 stores are planned for 2007 in areas including White Plains (NY), Novi (MI) and Danbury (CT).
