VeriChip Corporation to Exhibit VeriMed Patient ID System at Pri-Med Mid- Atlantic 2006

Volunteers to Have VeriMed RFID Microchips Implanted for Purpose of Patient Identification and Immediate Access to Personal Health Records 


DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Dec. 1  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Applied Digital (NASDAQ:ADSX), through its subsidiary VeriChip Corp., announced today that the VeriMed patient ID System will be featured at the Pri-Med Mid-Atlantic 2006 convention from November 30 to December 2, 2006 at the Baltimore Convention Center.

During the three-day exhibit, physicians with VeriChip will be on hand to implant VeriMed RFID microchips in conference attendees who have volunteered for the procedure.  The VeriMed Patient Identification System, which utilizes an implantable RFID microchip in combination with a handheld radio frequency identification (RFID) scanner and a secure patient database, is designed to provide immediate access to important health information on patients who arrive at an emergency department unconscious, delirious or unable to communicate.
