ADC (NASDAQ:ADCTD) (www.adc.com) today announced the
addition of its new Digivance(R) Street-Level Coverage Solution (SCS)
product to an industry-leading family of all-digital distributed
antenna systems (D-DAS). The low profile and environmentally friendly
Digivance SCS offers wireless service providers an effective solution
for providing coverage in dense urban areas with restrictive zoning
requirements. The Digivance SCS will be featured in ADC's booth No.
23018 at SUPERCOMM 2005, June 7-9 in Chicago.
Based on ADC's patented digital RF transport-over-fiber
technology, the Digivance SCS offers superior digital performance and
the industry's highest available optical loss budget. Designed to
blend into the environment, the SCS remote solution features a
low-profile form factor with multiple mounting options including
strand mount, pole mount and wall mount. The unit is entirely sealed
with no fans or filters for increased system reliability,
maintenance-free operation, and a visually attractive, noiseless
remote unit.
"With the increasing demand for wireless services in dense urban
areas, carriers are looking for ways to enhance coverage and capacity
while also meeting strict zoning requirements of municipalities," said
Scott Otis, director of product management of the Wireless Business
Unit for ADC. "The Digivance SCS offers the field-proven performance
of the Digivance Long-Range Coverage Solution (LRCS) in a remote
package that is ideally suited for challenging urban deployments,
including light poles, subways and tunnels."
ADC's Digivance solutions digitize the entire designated RF band,
digitally transport it over fiber, and reconstruct the signal at full
bandwidth, regardless of modulation technology or data rate. The
Digivance family offers flexible, scalable solutions for a variety of
applications, from a single building to a campus to a large city
center and beyond to rural areas.
The Digivance SCS is the newest addition to the Digivance product
family that includes the Digivance Long-Range Coverage Solution
(LRCS), the Digivance Indoor Coverage Solution (ICS), and Digivance
FLX, a flexible, multi-tenant DAS solution from OpenCell. ADC's
wireless portfolio also includes a complete line of ClearGain(R)
tower-mounted amplifiers for service providers' wireless networks.
