Acxiom® Corporation (Nasdaq: ACXM), a recognized leader in marketing services and technology, will have a prominent presence at the International Conference on Information Quality (ICIQ), Nov. 12-14. The conference will take place on the campus of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock (UALR), marking the first time it has been held anywhere in the United States other than the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

“Information quality is a growing academic field of study as businesses recognize how customer data integrity enables transformative marketing and personalized engagement that delivers value at every interaction,” said Todd Greer, Acxiom senior vice president, Consumer Identity and Insight Products. “We believe Acxiom is uniquely positioned to contribute to expand the topic’s awareness and understanding.”

Acxiom, which was instrumental in helping found UALR’s Information Quality graduate program in 2006, will host the pre-conference reception in the company’s Little Rock River Market headquarters building Friday evening, Nov. 12. On Sunday, Nov. 14, Acxiom’s Sharif Youssef and Rick McConville will present the address “How Consumer Trends are Shifting the Data Quality Landscape.” Additionally, Acxiom Brazil employees Marília T. de Mello, Gustavo C. Frainer, José G.C. de Souza and Luiz C.R. Junior will receive the conference’s Stuart E. Madrick best paper award for their paper titled “Towards a High Performance Merge Solution for Large-Scale Datasets.”

More than 125 researchers and practitioners from the academic, public and private sectors are expected to attend the ICIQ. The 2010 conference is jointly sponsored by UALR’s Information Quality Graduate Program and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Information Quality Program and is hosted by UALR’s Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology.

UALR is the only university in the world to offer a Ph.D. in Information Quality, and one of only two that offers a Master’s degree. Dr. John R. Talburt, professor of Information Science and chairman of the department, is a former Acxiom executive.

More information on the conference can be found at http://iciq2010.org.
