American Access Technologies Reports Its Zone Cabling Products
Comply With New Telecommunications Industry Association Standard
KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla., June 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Access
Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AATK) is pleased to announce that the
Telecommunications Industry Association ("TIA") has published their new
Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Centers (TIA-942). The
publication of the new standard gives official recognition to the concept and
application of zone cabling within the Data Center itself.
Joe McGuire, Chief Financial Officer of American Access, stated, "Our review of
the new TIA standard indicates that all American Access passive zone enclosures
are in compliance."
Mr. McGuire went on to discuss the importance of this new standard to American
Access. He stated, "Data centers house the computing, data storage and
networking equipment that provide the most vital information and communications
services to the organization. A data center contains numerous devices that must
be interconnected within the data center before their services can be provided
throughout the enterprise. The TIA standards provide for zone distribution
areas within the data center to organize the data center into a logical,
manageable network. Therefore, our American Access zone cabling products, which
we provide for use in the office environment, can also be used to structure the
data center for maximum efficiency.
"Network engineers, architects and others responsible for designing and
specifying telecommunications networks now have the assurance that there are
TIA standards covering not only their zone cabling configurations, but also the
zone enclosure products utilized in zone cabling networks and data centers.
"We anticipate that zone cabling will continue to benefit from the move towards
the open office environment, and advances in telecommunications technologies
and network economics will increase zone cabling in both existing and new
construction. We believe that zone cabling is a superior approach for growing
open office configurations or wherever frequent moves, additions and changes of
telecommunications services are a factor because 'zone cabling' of the
workspace reduces overall labor and material costs for network installation and
facilitates moves, adds, changes and upgrades for the network installations."
