RNS Number:0939U TBI PLC 12 January 2004 TBI PLC ("TBI" or "the Group") Third Quarter Traffic Statistics TBI's four European airports handled a total of 3.2 million passengers during the period from 1 October to 31 December 2003, an increase of 16.2% over the corresponding period last year (2002: 2.7 million). As expected, low cost traffic led the growth across the portfolio increasing by 25.9% to 2.5 million passengers. Full service, which only represents some 6% of total European traffic currently (2002: 10.5%), fell 26.4% to 208,100 passengers in line with expectations. Charter increased marginally by 0.5% to 461,000 passengers - the charter figures are particularly encouraging given the previously announced withdrawal of MyTravel from Luton, which was counterbalanced by a 21% rise at Belfast. Excluding Cardiff, all of the Group's core airport locations saw an improvement in year on year growth over Q2. Notable were Belfast which increased by 13% (2002: 9.5%) and Cardiff's year on year growth rate which fell to 19.2% from 38.6%, reflecting the passing of bmibaby's first anniversary of operations at the airport. Despite this, Cardiff and Stockholm-Skavsta (251.4%), saw the greatest growth over the period and all of the Group's airports experienced year on year growth.
