(NYSE:GSL) announced today that it plans to release second quarter financial
results for the period ended June 30, 2004 on July 29, 2004 after the close of
the New York Stock Exchange.  In connection with the release, management will
host an earnings conference call on Friday, July 30, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. eastern
time. A copy of the earnings release and quarterly financial supplement will be
