NEW YORK, Oct. 11  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Salomon Brothers Municipal

symbol "MPT," announced today the results of the votes cast at the Fund's
annual meeting of shareholders held on October 8, 2004.

  * Daniel Cronin and Jeswald W. Salacuse were elected as Class III
    Directors of Salomon Brothers Municipal Partners Fund II Inc. by owners
    of the Fund's common and preferred stock to hold office until the annual
    meeting of stockholders in the year 2007 or thereafter when respective
    successors are duly elected and qualified.
