Meeting of Shareholders 


NEW YORK, Nov. 13  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Salomon Brothers Municipal Partners
Fund II Inc., which is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol
"MPT," announced today the results of the votes cast at the Fund's annual
meeting of shareholders held on November 13, 2003, which had been adjourned from
its original date of October 9, 2003 to allow additional time for owners of the
Fund's preferred stock to vote.

   * Daniel Cronin was elected as a Class III Director of Salomon Brothers
     Municipal Partners Fund II Inc. by owners of the Fund's common and
     preferred stock to hold office until the annual meeting of stockholders

     in the year 2004 or thereafter when a respective successor is duly
     elected and qualified.

   * Carol L. Colman was elected as a Class II Directors of Salomon Brothers

     Municipal Partners Fund II Inc. by owners of the Fund's common and
     preferred stock to hold office until the annual meeting of stockholders

     in the year 2005 or thereafter when a respective successor is duly
     elected and qualified.

   * Leslie H. Gelb and William R. Hutchinson were elected as Class I
     Directors of Salomon Brothers Municipal Partners Fund II Inc. by owners

     of the Fund's common and preferred stock to hold office until the
     annual meeting of stockholders in the year 2006 or thereafter when
     respective successors are duly elected and qualified.

   * Dr. Riordan Roett was elected as a Class I Director of Salomon Brothers

     Municipal Partners Fund II Inc. by owners of the Fund's preferred stock

     to hold office until the annual meetings of stockholders in the year
     2006 or thereafter when a respective successor is duly elected and
     qualified.
