TORONTO, May 2  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Inc.
("FHR") (TSX/NYSE: FHR) today announced it will hold a media briefing
immediately following its Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders (the
"Meeting"). The Meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2005 in the
Imperial Room of The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.

Media are welcome to attend the Meeting, however cameras will not be permitted.
The media briefing has been designated for journalist questions, photo and film
opportunities.

  FHR will also release its first quarter earnings tomorrow.
