RNS Number:0865R Angus & Ross PLC 20 October 2003 Angus & Ross outlines drilling plans in Queensland Angus and Ross PLC is pleased to announce that it has commenced exploration on two of the more advanced gold targets within its recently acquired portfolio of seven licences in Queensland. Rutherfords Table, in the highly prospective northern Drummond Basin region, comprises two granted mining leases which are now held 100% by the company. The Drummond Basin contains gold-bearing breccia systems including Pajingo and Vera - Nancy, 90 kilometres to the northwest, Wirralie, 18 kilometres to the south and Yandan, 40 kilometres to the southwest. These deposits, some of which are being successfully mined, range from 0.5 to 4 million ounces of gold resources. At Rutherford's Table, work is in progress to complete bulk-testing of a small shallow alluvial deposit that, should the results prove satisfactory, will rapidly be brought into production to produce a modest cash flow. This testing will also expose bedrock which, on geological grounds, has potential for a source gold-bearing breccia system; drilling of these targets is planned for later in the year. Top Camp comprises granted mining leases near Cloncurry in the Mt Isa Block, a district renowned for world-class lead-zinc silver, copper and gold-copper deposits such as Ernest Henry and Osborne. The leased area has produced 25,000 ounces of gold from previous alluvial production; the source of which was not found by previous company explorers. Recent work has revealed coarse "nuggety" gold derived from the untested Black Fort Fault Zone where shallow historic workings, surface rock sampling grades exceeding 1 gram per tonne and a consistent soil geochemical anomaly extend over a length of 1,500 metres. This zone is within the catchment of the historic alluvial workings. Preparations are underway for an initial drilling programme including 4 drillholes totaling 600 metres. Results of this drilling should be available in November.
