SINGAPORE--Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. (Z74.SG) said Tuesday it has signed a pact with Ericsson (ERIC) to study the future of fifth generation, or 5G, networks and its applications for both consumers and enterprises.
Singtel and Ericsson will exchange ideas and conduct trials of potential new technologies, the biggest telecommunications operator in Southeast Asia said in a statement.
Earlier in November, Singtel said it plans to launch a 5G joint innovation program with Huawei Technologies Co. The initiative will serve as a research platform for 5G mobile broadband technologies, it said.
