Foster's Group Ltd. (FBRWY) said it is open to discussing a "sensible" bid with SABMiller PLC (SBMRY), after Foster's rejected SABMiller's hostile takeover bid of AUD9.5 billion ($10 billion), Bloomberg News reported Wednesday on its website, citing Foster's Chief Executive Officer John Pollaers in an interview with Bloomberg Television.
"We are open to conversation with any sensible bid and our shareholders understand that," Pollaers said in the report.
An external spokesman for SABMiller couldn't comment on the CEO's remarks, Bloomberg News said.
