                       ("Jarvis Porter" or "the Company")

          Disposal of Holding in European Colour plc ("European Colour")

The Company announces that, on 4 August, 2003, it disposed of its entire holding
of 13,851,616 ordinary 5p shares in European Colour, representing 29.73 per
cent. of European Colour's issued ordinary share capital, at a price of 28.25p
per share.

As previously announced, the aggregate shareholding in European Colour was
acquired at various intervals between 21 February, 2003 and 1 May, 2003, at an
average book cost of approximately 20.52p per share, in the belief that it
represented a good investment opportunity. Accordingly, the aggregate proceeds
of #3.91 million are expected to give rise to a capital gain before disposal
costs of approximately #1.07 million.

Following the disposal, the Company no longer has an interest in the shares of
European Colour.
