Avitar Common Stock Now Trading on OTC Bulletin Board

CANTON, Mass., Sept. 21  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Avitar, Inc. (OTC:AVRN.OB) (BULLETIN BOARD:  AVRN.OB)  (or the "Company") is pleased to announce that NASD has approved the Company's application for its Common Stock to be quoted on the Bulletin Board.  Quotation for trading on the Bulletin Board began September 20, 2005.  The trading symbol is AVRN.OB.

The OTC Bulletin Board is a regulated quotation service that displays real-time quotes, last-sale prices, and volume information in over-the-counter securities.  Securities quoted on the Bulletin Board are subject to filing requirements with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The National Association of Securities Dealers, a self-regulatory organization of the securities industry, oversees both OTC Bulletin Board and the NASDAQ stock market.
