The Company was informed on 8 July 2003 by Dr Karol Sikora, the Scientific 
Director of the Company, that on that day he and his wife purchased
215,000 ordinary shares of 2p each ('Ordinary Shares') at 23p. This 
transaction represents 0.24% of the Company's issued Share Capital,
and previous to this transaction neither Dr Karol Sikora nor his wife
