Dionics, Inc. Offers LED-Based 'Silicon Light-Chip' for Architectural and Other Lighting Markets Innovative Lighting Product Expected to Move Dionics' Growth into Large, New 'Bright-Future' Directions WESTBURY, N.Y., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dionics, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: DION.PK) announced today it has completed development of, and is currently beginning to market, its LED-based "Silicon Light-Chip." The Chip, assembled with Red, Green and Blue LEDs, offers a higher-efficiency design for the generation of both white and multi-colored light. This method of producing light uses much less energy and provides better environmental effects than incandescent and fluorescent lighting which are used in homes, factories and offices. The Dionics invention, currently in "patent-applied- for" status, helps to both extend the operating life of the LEDs and to retain their peak light output for longer durations. Large multi-unit arrays of the Silicon Light-Chip are expected to find quick acceptance in new architectural lighting applications, moving Dionics along with the industry's accelerating trend to LED-based lighting solutions. Bill Ryan, former LED Product Manager for Philips Lighting Co. and now Vice President for Business Development at Dionics, said: "The Dionics Silicon Light-Chip, coupled with its unique technology, should make the company a very attractive joint venture partner for lighting-system developers." Bernard L. Kravitz, company president, also pointed out that "LEDs are now at the forefront of revolutionizing the lighting industry, offering incredible energy-savings, long life and greatly reduced maintenance costs. It has been estimated," he said, "that 25% of the world's energy goes into producing light, and perhaps 80% of that amount can be saved by using LED-based lighting products. We at Dionics intend to move the company in that direction and," he concluded, "we are committed to playing a part in lighting the future." WRITTEN BY DIONICS, INC.
