Wellsford Real Properties, Inc. Establishes Stockholder Meeting and Record Dates

Wellsford Real Properties, Inc. (AMEX:WRP) announced
today that its annual stockholder meeting will be held on November 17,
2005 at 9:30AM. The board of directors of WRP has fixed the close of
business on October 11, 2005 as the record date for determining the
stockholders entitled to receive notice of and to vote at the
stockholder meeting.
   One of the purposes of this meeting is to consider and vote
regarding the previously announced plan of liquidation and dissolution
of WRP.
   WRP is a real estate merchant banking firm headquartered in New
York City which acquires, develops, finances and operates real
properties, constructs for-sale single family home and condominium
developments and organizes and invests in private and public real
estate companies.
