eGistics, Inc. and US Dataworks, Inc. (Amex: UDW) today announced a
strategic alliance to help billers and retailers streamline the
management of remotely captured images and data. The companies,
capitalizing on their respective world-class capabilities, are providing
distributed capture users with a hosted archive solution that improves
staff and customer access to images and data and speeds exceptions
processing.
“eGistics is excited to team with US Dataworks
to deliver a unique value to distributed capture users,”
said Ed Pearce, executive vice president of sales and corporate
development for eGistics. “This integrated
hosted solution enables billers and retailers to have the power to
better understand and track their cash position, strengthen transaction
exceptions processing, and offer an enhanced customer experience by
providing authorized users with access to images and data, whenever and
wherever they need them, via Web connection.”
“The shift we’re
seeing in the banking industry from in-person branch deposits to digital
distributed processes is as significant as the move to electronic
transactions by billers and retailers,” said
Terry Stepanik, president, US Dataworks. “By
creating an integrated distributed capture and archive solution, and
enabling secure processes for retrieving transaction images and data via
broadband connection, eGistics and US Dataworks will help enterprises
maximize their payments assets in this changing market.”
US Dataworks’ flagship solution,
Clearingworks, overcomes the challenges of the traditional check
clearing process by reducing the number of times a check is handled and
enabling the depositor to have more control over the entire
check-clearing process. At the point-of-sale, Clearingworks gives
merchants the flexibility to take checks in lane and convert them to
ACH, substitute checks or image exchange items. Checks can be either
scanned at the cash register and converted to an electronic transaction
immediately (“Point of Purchase”
or POP processing) or consolidated throughout the day and converted in a
nightly batch process in the back office (“Back
Office Conversion”).
Under the agreement announced today, the SAS 70-compliant eGistics
solution provides for the hosted long-term archive of images and data
for US Dataworks clients. US Dataworks transmits client check and
payment images and related business data to eGistics for indexing,
archive and retrieval. Authorized personnel of US Dataworks client
organizations have the ability to access same-day payments data and
images via secure broadband connections; eGistics is providing a
tailored, private-labeled Web interface for image review and research.
The alliance with US Dataworks is part of eGistics’
broader strategy to build on its archive market leadership as banks and
billers migrate to electronic payments capture and clearing.
