From May 2019 to May 2024
Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (AMEX:TWW), a leading operator of integrated
Internet exchanges and a global provider of managed IT infrastructure
solutions for government and private sectors, today announced that
Truston, the largest vendor of library systems in the Netherlands, has
chosen Terremark’s managed hosting subsidiary,
Dedigate, N.V. as its strategic hosting partner. Terremark will host
Truston’s BiblioByte ASP environment at the
Amsterdam Data Center.
Truston selected Terremark, after an extensive selection process,
because of the quality of the solution and the scalability offered by
its platforms. Terremark will deliver Truston a robust, manageable and
safe server park to ensure that its BiblioByte application remains
available to its customers.
BiblioByte, one of Truston’s vertical
applications, was developed especially for libraries. BiblioByte
supports both the front and back office services of libraries. It allows
delivery of additional services such as systems management and personnel
administration from a centralized environment where connected libraries
can easily cooperate with other libraries and share their collections.
“To relieve our users of all
application-related issues, we decided to market our package in an ASP
model,” said René
de Vos, Truston Sales Manager responsible for BiblioByte. “It
quickly became apparent that Terremark was the best option to outsource
our critical infrastructure.”
Presently, several Truston’s customers such as
the library of Barneveld have been connected and are fully deployed in
Terremark’s platforms.
According to Joost Metten, Terremark’s
Managed Hosting CEO, “Terremark’s
experience in managing mission-critical infrastructures proved to be a
decisive factor during Truston’s partner
selection process. We offer the efficient service Truston needs.
Downtime is out of the question, especially in a library setting where
you expect to find the right information, whether this is an Internet
article or a digitalized book. Our services make sure our customer’s
end-users are able to find the information they need.”
In order to meet Truston’s needs and demands,
Terremark developed a tailor-made infrastructure that offers redundancy
to Truston’s critical systems. The
environment has also been equipped with stringent security measures to
prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information. The fully scalable
design enables Truston to connect new customers quickly to their own
dedicated servers.
