BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tolly Group, in partnership with Terremark Worldwide, Inc. and Siemon will host Switch Interop 2007 this month in Miami with the aim of providing industry switch makers with an independent forum to benchmark the Layer 2 and Layer 3 interoperability of their products. Switch Interop is a non-competitive study jointly funded by participants to prove interoperability amongst each other, and with installed devices from Cisco Systems, Inc., which are common in enterprise networks. Leading switch makers such as 3Com, Alcatel-Lucent, Blade Network Technologies, Enterasys Networks, Extreme Networks, Foundry Networks, Fujitsu, HP, IBM are among the companies that have already signed on to Switch Interop 2007. "In today's enterprise networks, the versatility and value that a switch provides is driven in large measure by its ability to interoperate with other equipment," said Kevin Tolly, president/CEO/founder of The Tolly Group. "Switch Interop is a level playing ground for vendors to assess interoperability and report on their capabilities to the buying public." The Tolly Group, the IT industry's leading independent authority on benchmarking switches and other networking equipment, will allow vendors to test their switch(es) alongside other vendors to prove areas of interoperability and establish, for buyers, that their platforms have been validated by an independent third party. By participating in Switch Interop 2007 companies can show prospective buyers how their products compare against other leading switches. "We are pleased to partner with The Tolly Group in this important study," said Marvin Wheeler, Chief Operations Officer of Terremark Worldwide, Inc. "The results of this extensive interoperability testing, conducted at Terremark's NAP of the Americas, will enable us to provide our customers and the industry with enhanced knowledge of the tested products as we continue to expand our lab testing program at the NAP."
