ThinkEngine Networks, Inc. (AMEX: THN) today announced that O1
Communications has selected the VSR1000 to power its new audio
conferencing service. The new service offers customers reservationless
conference calls in the first phase and soon will enable the use of
enhanced features such as call recording, PIN administration and other
call management functions.
O1 offers the service to new and existing enterprise customers and will
also private label the solution as it has done for providers such as
FreeVoiceConferencing.com.
“Our experience with a home-grown product
proved to lack scalability, so we searched the market for a scalable,
flexible solution,” said Brad Jenkins,
President and CEO of O1. “ThinkEngine’s
VSR1000 was the perfect fit. It’s highly
scalable, going to 968 ports in a 1U. It also gives us lots of
flexibility being able to support both TDM and VoIP in the same chassis,
and is extremely easy to operate. We literally had calls up and running
within a day.”
The O1 and ThinkEngine teams worked very closely through the decision
process, defining the needs for the platform and ultimately customizing
it to O1’s specifications. This was a deciding
factor in the choice of ThinkEngine and the VSR1000.
“Customers like O1 understand the
price-performance equation the VSR1000 offers,”
said Mike Wixon, VP of Product Management at ThinkEngine. “With
built-in TDM and IP support, customers have the flexibility to deploy
and migrate traffic between TDM and IP at will. In addition to richly
featured reservationless conferencing, O1 and ThinkEngine plan to work
together to address new markets and revenue opportunities. ThinkEngine’s
graphical Call Flow Designer tool will be employed to rapidly implement
these new services, leveraging the VSR1000 platform for multiple
services.”
