Trading Update

Synergy Healthcare plc is pleased to announce that its Healthtex division has
been successful in winning two significant new hospital contracts (starting in
February and April 2003) with a contract value of #3.2m.  In addition, a number
of existing contracts within both its Healthtex and Surgical divisions have been
either renewed or extended adding long-term revenue to the contracted revenue
base.

The national strategy for sterile services has not yet been released although it
is believed that it will be published for consultation shortly.  Significantly,
the Department of Health has recently indicated that it is actively seeking to
develop the market in sterile services and is encouraging new entrants as well
as existing suppliers to participate in procurements.  Against this background
we remain focused on improving our business, and this has been rewarded with
increased operating margins in both the Surgical and Healthtex divisions.  The
company is also focusing some effort on PFI's where there is a strong demand for
Synergy's services and expect to make an announcement in this regard at/or
before the release of the Final results.

The Directors of Synergy remain pleased with the current performance and outlook
for the company, and are confident that the outcome for the year to 31 March
2003 will meet market expectations.
