Pursuant to founder share options granted on 6 December 1993 to Scottish
Equitable plc (which has authorised AEGON Investment Management UK Limited to be
its duly appointed asset management agent) options over 1,500,000 Ordinary
Shares of 25p each have been exercised. Accordingly, application has been made
to The UK Listing Authority for these shares to be admitted to the Official List
and to the London Stock Exchange for these shares to be admitted to trading.
The shares rank pari passu with the existing issued shares of the Company.
Details of these founder share options are given in the Company's annual report
and accounts.

Following this exercise AEGON Asset Management UK Limited will hold a total of
5,700,000 ordinary shares representing 4.43% of the total issued share capital
of the Company.
