QuadraMed®
Corporation (Amex:QD) announced today that Hattiesburg, Miss.-based Forrest
General Hospital became the first client to run QuadraMed CPR (QCPR)
on CACHÉ®, the
high-performance object database from InterSystems
Corporation that makes applications faster and more scalable. The
benefits of QCPR on CACHÉ include enhanced
reporting capabilities, positioning users to deliver better, safer and
more efficient care enterprise-wide. The announcement was made at The
Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society 2008 Annual
Conference & Exhibition held Feb. 24-28 at the Orange County Convention
Center in Orlando.
QuadraMed’s support of InterSystems' CACHÉ
database platform is a key feature of its next major release of QCPR, a
robust, clinician-oriented electronic health record that is an important
part of the company’s Care-Based Revenue Cycle™
portfolio of solutions. These solutions are designed to assist large
health systems transform quality care into positive outcomes.
“Thanks to very hard work and close
collaboration with QuadraMed, the conversion to CACHÉ
went very smoothly and downtime was minimal,”
said Richard Golladay, director of information systems at Forrest
General, which includes a 512-bed hospital. “QCPR
has been an excellent product and its transition from a proprietary
version of Mumps called U2 to CACHÉ will make
it even better. QCPR is running extremely fast, reducing turnaround time
for some processes that previously consumed two hours down to 38
minutes. We are looking forward to accessing our clinical data through
SQL-based report writers, such as Crystal, which will give us
information we will use to drive further quality improvements and best
practices across our organization.”
According to Keith Hagen, QuadraMed’s
president and CEO, “QCPR’s
conversion to CACHÉ is representative of
QuadraMed’s strong commitment to help
hospitals realize the highest quality of care and optimal financial
performance through information technology. We are very confident that
existing as well as new clients will be enthusiastic about using QCPR in
the coming months to receive the proper reimbursement in the shortest
time at the lowest administrative cost while enhancing the care they
provide.”
