  Completion of Disposal of Whatman HemaSure and Settlement of Litigation with
                                Pall Corporation


Whatman plc ("Whatman") announces that the deal agreed last December to sell
substantially all of the assets of its Whatman HemaSure blood filtration
businesss to Pall Corporation and to settle the outstanding litigation with Pall
has now been completed. Pall has paid Whatman $5.95 million (#3.72 million)
cash.
