Phillips 66 (PSX) on Sept. 30 was restarting process units at its Sweeny, Texas, refinery following an early morning power outage. The outage caused flaring and opacity as some units shut down; some went into circulation mode, and some reduced charge rates, a government filing said.
CVR Energy (CVI) on Sept. 29 resumed turnaround maintenance after a boiler explosion on Sept. 28 fatally injured one worker and critically injured another. No process units or other areas of the facility were affected by the blast.
Pasadena Refining Systems Inc. reported upsets at its Pasadena, Texas, refinery FCCU on Sept. 28 and 29. The impact to production is unclear.
Irving Oil on Sept. 26 said normal operations resumed following an early-day explosion at a small carbonate storage tank. The event had no impact to production.
Phillips 66 on Sept. 25 reported the shutdown of an unspecified process unit for planned maintenance at its Wood River refinery in Roxana, Illinois, according to a filing made available on Sept 26.
