                          Signs Contract with WHSmith                          

NSB Retail Systems PLC, a leading supplier of software solutions to the retail
industry, today announces the signing of two major contracts with WHSmith, one
of the UK's top retailers, following a successful two year trial.

Highlights

The contracts are in respect of the software licences and ongoing support and
maintenance services for the NSB Connected Retailer Store and Connected
Retailer Sales Analytics solutions.

The software licence fee is £4m (pounds sterling), which is payable in
September 2003. The ongoing support and maintenance services have been
contracted for a minimum period of 5 years and yield contracted revenues of
approximately £1m (pounds sterling) per year.
