HOUSTON, Feb. 19  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Metals USA, Inc.,  today announced
the Company's 2004 Annual Meeting of Stockholders is scheduled for May 17, 2004,
9:00 a.m. (EST) at The Millenium Hilton, 55 Church St., New York, NY.

Any stockholder who wishes to submit a proposal for consideration at the
Company's 2004 Annual Meeting of Stockholders must submit the proposal to the
Company, One Riverway, Suite 1100, Houston, Texas 77056, Attn: John A. Hageman,
Corporate Secretary.  A stockholder's proposal must be received not later than
March 26, 2004 for inclusion, if appropriate, in the Company's proxy statement
relating to its 2004 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
