Investacorp, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. (NYSE MKT:LTS) hosted PlanForward15 National Conference from May 31st – June 3rd 2015 in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Investacorp kicked off the conference on Sunday May 31st with Shark Tank co-star and entrepreneur, Daymond John. During the session, Patrick Farrell (CEO/President) invited three financial advisors to the stage to discuss the ever-changing independent financial industry, and how they have successfully navigated their practice over the years. In addition, Adam Malamed (COO Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services), said a few words on the growth of Ladenburg Thalmann and the commitment of the enterprise to grow the independent model.

Investacorp was pleased to welcome 60 exhibitors at the event, many of whom participated and presented in educational breakout sessions. There were several preconference sessions offered the first day of the conference including a social media track, with details on the X, Y, and millennial generations and how to capture this business with the help of social media; a branding track which delved into creating a lasting brand for a practice; and finally Investacorp’s first-ever Money Manager showcase, profiling seven different managers and Investacorp’s advisory programs. During both afternoons of June 1st and 2nd, there were optional continuing education sessions offered, along with a technology and compliance roundtable.

Esteemed speakers at the event included an economic panel hosted by Phil Blancato (President Ladenburg Thalmann Asset Management), featuring four strategic analysts from two REIT mortgage companies as well as Oppenheimer and Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management. Ren Cheng, Senior Research Advisor for Fidelity Investments presented on simplifying systemic risk with clients. Investacorp also selected a non-profit organization to support this year called Mikey’s Way Foundation, raising $6500 for this important cause which helps hospitalized children pass the time by providing technological devices and ways to maintain communication with their peers.
