ImageWare® Systems, Inc. (AMEX:IW), a leading
developer and provider of identity management solutions, launches IWS™
Mediator™, a suite of multilingual
translation, collaborative and integrated multimodal biometric
capabilities for government, defense, border control, public safety and
enterprise-wide organizations.
ImageWare’s agnostic IWS Mediator platform
enables real-time multilingual translation, including two-way,
speech-to-speech, voice analysis, and multimodal biometric capabilities,
as well as support for multilingual chat, distributed speech for MeshNet
and document exploitation. Users can communicate with subjects in their
own language while allowing for subject verification and identification
through multi-modal biometrics, including voice, face, iris,
fingerprint, as well as the Common Access Card (CAC) and Personal
Identity Verification (PIV) credentials. The IWS Mediator supports more
than 28 languages, including Spanish, German, French, Korean, Arabic and
Mandarin.
“Leveraging the technology we acquired from
Sol Logic, the Mediator suite of products fills a void for the
intelligence, defense, public safety and border control markets we serve,”
said Jim Miller, ImageWare’s chairman and
CEO. “Mediator also continues our radically
different approach of using vendor-neutral, agnostic platforms and
enables integration with the IWS™ Biometric
Engine®. We have further differentiated
ImageWare’s offerings by adding language
translation, voice recognition and communications capabilities.”
The IWS Mediator and the company’s
next-generation biometric identity management technologies will be
exhibited at the 2008 Armed Forces Communications and Electronics
Association (AFCEA) Conference, one of the world's premier C4I
professional societies, being held at the San Diego Convention Center
Feb. 5 – 7. ImageWare’s
booth is #613.
ImageWare’s next-generation biometric
identity management solutions are based on its award-winning IWS
Biometric Engine, a biometric identity management platform for
multi-biometric searching and matching that is scalable, technology
agnostic and allows organizations to manage population databases of
unlimited sizes. The IWS Biometric Engine’s
multi-biometric enrollment, management and authentication platform
allows users to search and match tens of millions of biometrics for
identity confirmation. Searches can be 1:1 (verification), 1:N
(identification), X:N (investigative) and N:N (enrollment integrity).
ImageWare’s IWS Biometric Engine suite of
solutions provides government, law enforcement, border management and
enterprise businesses a wide variety of application-specific solutions
that address specific government mandates and technology standards. It
also provides the ability to integrate into existing legacy systems and
expand based upon specific customer requirements. The new application
suite of products includes complete packaged solutions for:
HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV)
Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS)
