                               BOARD APPOINTMENT

ITE Group plc ("ITE"), the international exhibitions specialist, today announces
that it has appointed Mike Hartley as Non-Executive Director, effective from
21st October 2003.

Mike Hartley, 54, is currently Chairman of Dawson International plc, the world's
leading cashmere business. He brings extensive international management
experience to the Board, having spent 10 years with Coats Viyella plc where for
the last three years he held the position of Chief Executive of the Viyella
division. He also held senior positions with the Company in Asia, Australia and
Africa, and brings to ITE specific emerging market knowledge and experience in
dealing with B2B in less developed markets.

Prior to joining Coats Viyella, Mr Hartley held several chief executive and
marketing roles within the retail sector, including at Tootal Group plc, Lewis
Meeson Ltd, Trinity International Holdings plc and Marks & Spencer plc. Most
recently Mr Hartley has been working with several prominent private equity
houses.

Mr Hartley holds an MBA from Manchester Business School.

There are no further disclosures in relation to Mr Hartley's appointment under
Rule 16.4 of the Listings Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
