The following replaces the Holding in Company announcement released on 3 June
2003 at 11.14 under RNS number 8490L. The Co-operation Retirement Benefit Fund
(L) Limited and Kanawa Limited did not dispose of their entire shareholdings as
previously disclosed. The details of the disposals and holdings are set out in
the amended announcement below.

                            Notification of Interest


The Company was notified on 5 June 2003, that Co-operation Retirement Benefit
Fund (L) Limited has disposed of 8,812,954 shares in the capital of the Company
and, as a result, has retained a shareholding of 1,403,760 shares (4.37%) and
Kanawa Limited has disposed of 999,403 shares in the capital of the Company and,
as a result, has retained a shareholding of 159,189 shares (0.5%), both pursuant
to the exercise of an option on 30 May 2003 granted to Dairy Brands New Zealand
Limited.

Co-operation Retirement Benefit Fund (L) and Kanawa Limited were both parties
acting in concert with Dairy Brands New Zealand Limited in connection with the
recent offer for the Company which closed on 30th May 2003.
