Magic Lantern Group Launches Targeted Marketing Campaign to Major
U.S. Markets -- Estimates to Increase Revenues by Up to $6.0 Million by 2006 --
NEW YORK, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Magic Lantern Group, Inc.
(AMEX:GML), (http://www.magiclanterngroup.com/), a leading international
distributor of educational content and third-generation, digital content and
e-delivery solutions, announced today that the Company has launched its first
major direct marketing campaign targeted to U.S. schools, school districts and
public libraries. The campaign follows a number of strategic agreements Magic
Lantern Group has signed for exclusive video, DVD and digital streaming
distribution rights into U.S. and international markets.
Magic Lantern Group President and CEO Bob Goddard stated, "Capturing sales for
educational videos in the United States is an important market extension toward
aggressively growing our business. The international educational market
generates approximately $100 billion annually, with increasing sales stemming
from high-growth U.S. markets. Through our recent appointment of Jeff Lorenz as
EVP, Global Sales and Marketing, and the launch of our first large-scale
targeted U.S. marketing campaign, we are positioned to accelerate sales of our
top-selling videos and DVDs. With increased U.S. educational market
penetration, we expect our revenues could ramp up to $6 million over the next
two years. Factoring in potential strategic acquisitions could significantly
raise these initial projections."
The campaign will include exclusive programming from Magic Lantern Group's
leading producer network, including CTV Television, The Knowledge Network,
World Vision and Spellbound Productions. In addition to direct sales, the
campaign will target a number of high-profile U.S. educational distributors,
who currently resell its titles to libraries, schools, and school districts in
