Eagle Broadband (AMEX:EAG), a leading provider of
broadband, Internet Protocol (IP) and communications technology and
services, today announced that it has signed a new contract with The
Sportsman Channel to add the twenty-four hour hunting and fishing
channel to its IPTVComplete(TM) service offering.
"The Sportsman Channel is the first television network dedicated
to hunting and fishing," said Dave Micek, President and CEO of Eagle
Broadband. "It is a channel created by sportsmen for sportsmen
offering hunting and fishing 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We are
excited to offer The Sportsman Channel via Eagle's IPTVComplete
service offering, and with over 50 million hunters and fishermen
across the country, we feel this channel will appeal to many in our
target market."
"We are excited to be working with Eagle Broadband, and to have
our channel available via Eagle's IPTVComplete. IPTV is the wave of
the future, and we are thrilled to be a part of what Eagle is doing,"
said C. Michael Cooley, President and CEO of The Sportsman Channel.
IPTVComplete is the multi-channel, turnkey video solution for
service providers offered jointly by Eagle Broadband and France
Telecom subsidiary, GlobeCast. IPTVComplete reduces the time, effort
and costs for broadband providers looking to offer high-quality
entertainment services over fiber or DSL broadband networks. The
solution provides a unique combination of video content, headend
infrastructure, satellite distribution and set-top boxes to offer a
more profitable services deployment model.
Eagle Broadband and GlobeCast previously announced that their
IPTVComplete video solution is being used by AllAccess Technologies
and Home Town Cable for multi-state roll-outs that include Texas,
Ohio, Florida, Nevada, New York, and New Jersey.
