American Defense Systems, Inc. “ADSI”
(AMEX: EAG), offering advanced transparent as well as opaque armor,
architectural hardening and security products for the defense and
homeland defense markets, announced today that Inc. has ranked the
Company as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America. The
2008 Inc. 5,000 list was launched on August 20, 2008, covering high
growth oriented private companies through the period ended December 31,
2007. American Defense Systems’ ranking
reflects its status as a private company in 2007, having subsequently
completed its initial public listing on the American Stock Exchange.
American Defense Systems earned the rank of 696 out of the 5,000
companies ranked in the annual 2008 Inc. 5,000 analysis, an expansion of
the Inc. 500 which, according to Inc., has served as a benchmark for the
most innovative, dynamic, and successful private companies in the nation
since 1982. The Inc. 5,000 includes the Inc. 500 but, according to Inc.,
digs deeper to offer a more comprehensive look at the entrepreneurial
private company growth engines helping drive the U.S. economy.
Anthony Piscitelli, ADSI’s Chief Executive
Officer, remarked, “We are honored to have
been recognized as one of America’s fastest
growing and entrepreneurial businesses. This prestigious ranking is
particularly helpful in the wake of our public listing on the American
Stock Exchange, and increasing ADSI’s exposure
within the investment community.”
The Inc. 5,000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth over a
four year period. Additionally, contending companies must be U.S.-based,
privately held, for profit, and independent -- not subsidiaries or
divisions of other companies -- as of December 31, 2007. Since then, a
number of companies on the list have gone public, including American
Defense Systems, Inc.
