ComnetiX(TM) Inc Launches the Latest Version of Its Java-Based
Intelligent Identification Environment(TM) (IIE) Software Suite
Adaptable to All Commercial Enterprise, Criminal and Applicant Screening, IIE
Enables Clients to Manage Their Overall Business Workflow More Efficiently
TORONTO, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- ComnetiX(TM) Inc (TSX: CXI), a leading
provider of biometric identification and authentication solutions, announced
that it has launched the latest version of its Java-based Intelligent
Identification Environment(TM) (IIE). Its features make the Company's
solutions even more compatible with both new and legacy systems that operate in
a variety of environments by offering increased speed and functionality, with a
zero footprint.
CEO Jim Scullion commented, "Our latest version of IIE opens up our market
potential to include virtually every police department, every corporate
security department and every government agency across North America that is
concerned with ascertaining or verifying identities. Not only does this
solution advance existing technology considerably, it is ideal for the possible
future migration of biometric technology to portable devices, such as PDAs. We
believe the release of our latest software platform puts us ahead of the
technology curve in our business -- a head start we intend to maximize."
Based on open source web and Java technologies, IIE is an integrated
operational and information platform that focuses on business process
efficiencies. Eliminating process redundancy and information silos, real time
exchange of information across heterogeneous systems can be achieved within
this secure and open environment. The open framework allows for a scalable,
modular approach when customizing a solution -- customers may add or suppress
functionality according to their own specific system requirements.
Additionally, this intelligent, fully integrated identification system software
architecture improves access to information, provides consolidated information
and reduces data entry to the maximum extent possible. The result is an
improvement of workflow efficiencies and, when required, the possibility of an
aggregation of important information across systems.
Central to maximizing the benefits of IIE's added speed and functionality is
the Company's IntelliServ(TM) product. IntelliServ is a broad,
software-centric business solution that automates the workflow process
associated with biometric identification and authentication in both civil and
criminal applications. By storing all data in an open image format,
IntelliServ remains independent of proprietary AFIS and Live Scan systems.
Operating with any biometric acquisition, it supports all hardware
manufacturers, co-exists with existing systems and will evolve according to
developing requirements in an orderly, cost-effective and risk-adverse way.
Along the same lines, IIE was built upon modules, so that the implementation of
IIE is not an "all or nothing" proposition. This benefits the customer in that
it does not force the selection of ComnetiX-only products in order to gain the
advantages of integration and allows the system to grow with the evolving needs
of the customer.
Aspects of the integration of IIE into the Company's solutions have already
been realized in all ComnetiX Repository of Integrated Criminal Images (RICI),
now known as IntelliBook(TM), implementations throughout New York State.
Currently, regional servers in active production support real-time interfaces
with systems for courts, jails, district attorneys and public defenders,
warrants and parole/probation, among others.
About Intelligent Identification Environment -- IIE
IIE provides a platform that grows with an organization's business
requirements. The modular design of IIE enables ComnetiX to provide a unified
user experience by integrating new modules with legacy systems. As IIE modules
are added, and demand on the server increases, it leverages the Java Enterprise
Edition to scale up and out to ensure a high level of availability and
application performance.
IIE's modules are all defined in XML. These XML definitions are then used to
generate user interfaces and Enterprise Java Beans enabling ComnetiX to build
functional applications in a much shorter time frame.
About IntelliServ(TM)
ComnetiX leads the biometric industry with advanced technologies leveraging its
versatile IntelliServ(TM) technology. IntelliServ is boosted by the inclusion
of the OIS as a module and works alongside the workflow-engine module enabling
process automation and external interfaces. This contemporary database
technology expands capabilities well beyond traditional transient "store and
forward" (S&F) systems by providing a full range of functionality from record
queuing to archival storage of records in standards-compliant format. An
IntelliServ system is designed to mediate workflow between civil applicant and
booking workstations (where fingerprints, photos, signatures and document
images are captured) and the back-end Automated Fingerprint Identification
Systems (AFIS) at central agency sites. IntelliServ acts as the core of the
solution, providing the foundation for further system enhancements. Central to
criminal background checking is the IntelliBook(TM) solution currently being
used throughout New York, as well as IntelliScreen(TM), suitable for applicant
background checking. IntelliLink(TM), another ComnetiX solution, serves as a
powerful criminal intelligence gathering and linkage analysis application.
IntelliServ integrates all components and connects to all legacy systems in a
criminal intelligence environment.
