MFS Municipal Closed-End Funds Announce Extension of Term of Preferred Shares

MFS Municipal Income Trust (NYSE: MFM), MFS Investment Grade Municipal Trust (NYSE: CXH), MFS California Municipal Fund (NYSE MKT: CCA), MFS High Income Municipal Trust (NYSE: CXE), and MFS High Yield Municipal Trust (NYSE: CMU) today announced that each fund has extended the term of its existing variable rate municipal term preferred shares (VMTP shares). Each fund's VMTP shares previously had a term redemption date of April 1, 2019, which has in each case been extended to October 31, 2021.
