Dr. John Televantos, PhD. Joins Balchem's Board of Directors



NEW HAMPTON, N.Y., Feb. 21  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Directors of Balchem
Corporation are pleased to announce the expansion of the Board with the
election of Dr. John Televantos to the Board.

Dr. Televantos has held various executive positions in the chemical industry in
the last 20 years and is currently the President of the Aqualon Company, a
wholly-owned entity of Hercules, Inc.  John's early career was concentrated in
research and development at Union Carbide and Arco Chemical Co/Lyondell.  More
recently, he has been the key executive in Foamex International and
Aqualon/Hercules where he has strategized and executed sales growth and profit
improvement initiatives.

John holds a BS and PhD. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of
London, United Kingdom.  Additionally, John has sat on several public and
private company Boards and is affiliated with other key industry- related
groups.
