ATC Healthcare, Inc., (AMEX:AHN)
a leader in medical staffing, announced today that Gerald P. Halpern has
joined the Board of Directors and will serve on its Audit and
Compensation and Stock Option Committees. Mr. Halpern was appointed by
the Board to finish the term of Dr. Bernard Firestone, who had
voluntarily resigned from the Board due to a potential conflict of
interest. Mr. Halpern’s appointment to the
Board expires in August 2010.
Mr. Halpern is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison and
Harvard Law School. He is an expert in the laws and regulations
governing healthcare providers and has served as General Counsel or
Special Counsel to many healthcare companies, mental health clinics, and
other healthcare facilities. For more than 25 years, Mr. Halpern has
been legal counsel for the New York State Association of Healthcare
Providers. He is also a former Deputy commissioner of the New York City
Housing and Rehabilitation Administration. He currently serves as an
arbitrator in the Nassau District Court in Nassau County, New York.
