20/12/2007 09:48 | might just be BARC; at the moment can only buy 750 (at full price) but can sell 10000 at 64.35p. fyi | jimibt
20/12/2007 08:26 | sdt7618 - hope you got up early, tho' still time ;) | jimibt

19/12/2007 22:57 | sdt7618 - i've honestly got no idea, tho' the positives are that the extent of the issue is some $3m, so hardly a major concern (1.6mUKP). a very massive over-reaction in terms of what's at stake. could be one of those ones that either marches straight up on the back of 'investor' pre-orders. very difficult to read. however, the bit that got my interest was the strategic review RNS, that really is quite interesting as they state that the focus will be consolidation and maximising value for shareholders. this basically means that the company will sell off some of it's assets to offset the losses today, so basically a flag being waved to keep the bigger investors happy. based on this, i 'imagine' the price will trend back up. famous last words ;) | jimibt
19/12/2007 20:56 | so what do you guys make of the massive sells just pre and post close. must have close on 9m shares sold. if an indicator for the opening tomorrow I would say this has got further to go south! | sdt7618
19/12/2007 17:35 | mryesyes - tho' of course, that would fly in the face of the strategic review RNS: Strategic Review Following the Company's trading statement earlier today, the board of EAG has resolved to terminate the Company's acquisition program with immediate effect. Management will focus on consolidating the existing business and maximizing value for shareholders. As part of this, the board has initiated a full strategic review of the business, including the possibility of an outright sale. The board will update shareholders in due course. let's see how it progresses. i'd expect a fairly timely (if brief) update from the mgmt based on the above. i guess we'll see ;) | jimibt
19/12/2007 17:30 | I think it is a buy for the investor who cuts the existing shareholders out of the equation | mryesyes
19/12/2007 17:16 | update from bloomberg (much the same as in RNS's). however, the broker note still recommends it as a buy. In September, Numis Securities analyst Will Wallis forecast EAG's 2007 operating profit would be about $17 million. Numis Securities is the house broker for EAG. He recommends investors buy the stock. | jimibt
19/12/2007 15:46 | Who would be interested in this company,,,,why would they put it up for sale?? | 5dally
19/12/2007 15:08 | latest rns hints at a possible sale of the company. could well be valued at yesterday's closing price. will be interesting to watch. can't buy any more than 1000 without going to the market, so could be some nice rises today in the last hour. | jimibt
19/12/2007 15:07 | EAG Limited Latest.... ("EAG" or "the Company") Strategic Review Following the Company's trading statement earlier today, the board of EAG has resolved to terminate the Company's acquisition program with immediate effect. Management will focus on consolidating the existing business and maximizing value for shareholders. As part of this, the board has initiated a full strategic review of the business, including the possibility of an outright sale. The board will update shareholders in due course. | double6
19/12/2007 13:34 | I've been watching this one for some time and have totally failed to get a handle on it. The profits warning is minor in relation to their acquisitions, but are they doing the right thing? Are they setting up a company with real prospects for the future? It seems strange that those who bought into the story at the IPO seem to have abandoned it. I'm on the sidelines until I can understand it rather better, but at least well done for starting a thread double6. | hebgb
19/12/2007 13:06 | (Fallen today to 57.5/59.5 - not currently reflected in the charts) | double6
