BROOKFIELD, Wis., June 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Mazda recently showcased the new 100th Anniversary Special Edition 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata, slating its release in limited quantities for late 2020. Both the traditional soft top cabriolet and the RF models of the 2020 Miata will have production runs of this new special edition. Each special edition model produced will be based off the 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata Grand Touring trim and will include all features found on the standard model Grand Touring model.
The 100th Anniversary Special Edition Miata will feature many styling changes that pay homage to the first Mazda passenger car, the 1960 R360 coupe. Both the soft top and the RF will come in the premium Snowflake White Pearl Mica exterior paint. Most other styling elements are red. The roof for the RF model is white, but the traditional convertible features a red soft top. The interior of the Special Edition features red leather seats and red carpeting. Small 100th Anniversary insignias can be found on the front fender and each wheel cap. Read the official Mazda press release for more details.
This special edition Miata profits from the Mazda decision to extended historically Club-only performance upgrades to the 2020 Miata Grand Touring trim. The Grand Touring trim—and by extension, the 100th Anniversary Special Edition Miata—with a six-speed manual transmission comes with a limited-slip differential, a front shock tower brace, a sport-tune suspension, and Bilstein® dampers.
