DETROIT, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Energy efficiency experts from DTE Energy will be at The Home Depot stores in metro Detroit Saturday, Oct. 10 to offer homeowners advice on how to save money by saving energy.
Shoppers also will be able to take advantage of special pricing DTE Energy is offering on energy-efficient light bulbs. Select Energy Star ® qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) are available for less than 99 cents per bulb at The Home Depot locations throughout the metro Detroit area. With lighting accounting for about 20 percent of the average homeowner's electric bill, replacing incandescent bulbs with CFLs can help lower energy expenses. CFLs use 75 percent less energy and last up to 10 times longer and provide just as much light as standard incandescent bulbs. That can translate into savings of as much as $44 over the lifetime of just one CFL.
DTE Energy experts will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to answer questions about CFLs and other ways to make your home more energy efficient at these The Home Depot locations:
-- 25451 Michigan Ave., Dearborn Heights
-- 3300 Carpenter Road, Ypsilanti
-- 225 Avon Road, Rochester Hills
-- 3330 Grand River Ave., Howell
DTE Energy's CFL discounts are part of the company's Your Energy Savings initiative, designed to help customers save money and help the environment by saving energy.
