17/9/2014 20:53 | Why just zoopla. Look at phones for you. A very profitable business. Vodafone first turn off the supply then ee.... Result administration. Our town is turning off both! If you turn off one you just make the other stronger. Get everyone in your town together and just do it.... Investors be warned agents are leaving in jan. | macminchus
16/9/2014 19:27 | I'm an agent in south yorks just had agents mutual rep in. If you sign up to them you can only sign to one more portal, goodbye zoopla!! | jonescg01
14/8/2014 16:58 | Zak Mir , Editor Spreadbet Magazine offers his Major market round-up and says to BUY in Zoopla (ZPLA.Lon) . See more: | tiptv1
11/8/2014 10:54 | I have been slightly disappointed with the volumes and interest in Zoop, but I guess it's a marathon not a sprint. Looking forward to reading the Management statement on Thursday. | stevetk
30/7/2014 10:12 | In USA, two of the biggest players have merged. However, the USA market is way behind the UK (for a change) and its difficult for any one entity to offer total coverage. Its when a search engine becomes a default that it can start making huge amounts of cash, look at Google and how it so dominates search engines. Similarly, Rightmove is THE dominant searchengine for residential property (and likely to remain so) and Zoopla is a distant number TWO. The bigger threat to Zoopla is AgentsMutual and how it takes market share from Zoopla. | bigboyo
17/7/2014 13:23 | I look at Rightmove when researching property, my son prefers Zoopla. Personal choice really, you get used to a website. Zoopla needs to keep up the advertising to keep its name out there, so people instantly think of it when looking for properties to buy or rent. | yewtrees
15/7/2014 18:43 | What if one buys another? Still think Zoop is the best site, Rightmove finds you a house for sale but a quick look at the agents web page does the same. Zoop tells you what the owner paid(when he bought) what the other houses in the street went for recently and straight onto Streetview to look at the area. They just have to find a way of making money | robertfaulkner
15/7/2014 15:19 | What will happen to the Rightmove and Zoopla share prices if there is as anticipated a crash in house prices when interest rates go back up? | richaims
14/7/2014 13:16 | The agents mutual situation will pan out over the next year. But the real question is : does the market need THREE portals (agents mutual, zoopla and rightmove )? In my opinion 2nd and 3rd place just don't cut the ice. There are many examples in the tech sector. The question I ask myself is : Can i make more money from Zoopla or Rightmove (as agents mutual is not listed) ? And if Agents mutual does list should I be giving them (and thus their sponsoring agents) another freebie ? | bigboyo
10/7/2014 22:02 | -------------------- NO ADVICE IS INTENDED BY ANYTHING ON THIS THREAD. READERS MUST CHECK ALL INFORMATION AND DO THEIR OWN RESEARCH. SHARES CAN GO DOWN AS WELL AS UP. -------------------- | richaims
03/7/2014 11:09 | Quite a few of the £2,500 (- 20% = £2,000 net) privileged Estate Agent investors sales, starting to go through now. I'm hanging on to mine a little longer. | hopperagain
30/6/2014 12:48 | Plenty of sells today and yet the price rises - a bit like property prices. | hopperagain
24/6/2014 21:02 | Sorry about the "stay with zoopla"..... Yes you can leave but they are still trying to get agents to buy into it to benefit from any growth hoping we choose them over Rightmove | macminchus
24/6/2014 21:00 | None of them but I do own my own estate agents. In our area most of the independents have signed up as gold members. Either way come jan there is going to be a large reduction in members with either Rightmove or zoopla. As an investment, a reduction in the membership must affect profitability/share price. Strangely I actually think zoopla will come out of it better than Rightmove, but will it affect the business yes..... You can not ignore the fact that only 20 percent of agents took up the offer of shares in zoopla. I am not trying to get people to sign up to am... Just trying to give people an idea of the risk to their investment. If 80 percent of the agents did not buy the shares... What would happen if those same agents chose to leave in jan, what affect would that have on the share price (very much doubt that would happen but there is a risk come jan) | macminchus
20/6/2014 11:19 | Thanks Mac | robertfaulkner
19/6/2014 16:07 | No.... Estate agents were offered a 20 percent discount on the shares to stay with zoopla. Only 1 in 5 bought. The reason behind it is all of the agents are backing agents mutual. Come jan the portals are going to struggle. The only way they will keep agents is by reducing fee's. Watch agents mutual!!!!!! | macminchus
19/6/2014 08:30 | Anybody thinking of getting on board, I've used this site for property seaches for years. It didn't earn them any money but dam usefull I'm addicted to property auctions(when the prices are down, not like now) I don't buy, I just like to dream and look at a few. With Zoopla I can find out so much more about an auction property(would be the same for anyone buying from an agent) I can view the road and the outside via a direct link to google street view, I can find out the prices a property was sold for previously and get a Zoop valuation of that property from last sale price to today, all without leaving home You can see old estate agents particulars from previous sales, and asking price if they tried to sell property just before auctioning it | robertfaulkner
18/6/2014 11:04 | Floated today at lower end of IPO expected price. The real investment question (rather than emotional BS) is will ZPLA be able to turn a profit for me and you when it is second (and likely to remain so) in the property market to Rightmove ? | bigboyo |
