Someone hoovering up in 100K chunks by the looks of it.

Remember, tiny free float here and most held in trust so when this decides to soar it will.

Environmental licence due any time now so that should make it pop higher soon, to double figures imo, with offers to follow hopefully soon after that.

Thanks for this richie!

To quote align: "The trade here is that net of cash the company’s equity trades for a fraction of a fraction of the NPV of the project and we suspect that 2017 will be the year that either a new party is brought into the consortia (likely a Chinese enterprise) to progress development or ZIOC or its partner Glencore look to take ownership of the balance equity in the partnership from the other party. Under any of the scenarios, and using even the written down value of the JV by ZIOC (ie a worst case) we see a price multiples of the current equity level."

"Remember the stock originally floated at a value of 156p per share and there has been no additional equity dilution since being quoted. This gives you an idea of what the project was once seen as being worth."

2017 is gonna be exciting for holders at this level!

Managed to find this VERY revealing report from 2013 regarding Glencore's intent to go ahead with Zanaga Iron Ore project:

Environmental licence due any week now, so hold onto your seats when the project is given the go ahead in due course, I'm thinking x10 for starters!

Happy New year gentlemen, 2017 should be a nice one!

Chesty, if you put #ironore in twitter search box and go to latest tweets, you should get up to date price posted by some source or other.

Otherwise mining.com is a good site for mining.

"When is production being targeted ?"
Easy: In $2.2BN, starting from 2022 (2017+4 years).

As far as I can tell we need:
1. Environmental license
2. Finance (or 3rd party investor) to get phase1 going.
3. Government support to get the port in (or 9km north of) Pointe Noire allocated for a dewatering and loading plant. (I can see a lot of underutilised space around the port on the satellite images...) and permission to pull 380KM of pipeline through the country and capital down to the port...

Anything else?

I find this report about slurry pipelines quite interesting. Zanaga is mentioned as one of the prospects.

Also, one very recent example of renewed confidence in iron ore in West Africa:

Agreed topaz, but even though I've been keeping a lazy watch on this for years I missed the lows and only got in at 5 and another at 6p..so not life changing amounts unfortunatly, unless it would somehow go up to say £1 undiluted...which with my experience of AIM is somewhat.. unlikely.
However, I'm looking forward to the environmental license as this in my view would signal the "go" signal for all players to fully evaluate this as well as giving Glencore-Zioc a chance to market it more actively with a third partner/financer..
Lets see...

I am not saying this will be a potentially good investment .This has to complete feasibility study yet... you guys are getting way ahead of yourselves. When is production being targeted ?

The biggest danger here GTA is being tempted to sell early, when it goes to 20p, 30p, 50p etc ...

This really could be a life changing investment, no gimmicks, just the product when it's needed, at the right price.

Hmm... provided that we would be shipping 65%+ fines the price would be close to 115USD. surely that must play in our favour when considering the viability of the project and what Glencore might be pondering now that they've stepped back from the cliff-edge...
It would also appear that higher purity product would continue to command higher prices in China due to the environmental clampdown occurring there.
Surely at 115USD that would leave a very good margin if we work at 31USD FOB plus somewhere between 12-25USD shipping to China? (115-56=59USD margin?)
Does anyone have more precise and current going rates from west africa?
this might be a bit outdated but gives an idea:
