The gap in the share price between the voters and non-voters is closing rapidly IMO.

I have been watching the buying going on last few days and press comment over wek end about hidden value in some pub operaters and this could have plenty of that!

Full page article in the Sunday Express' money pages.
It says Young's are a prime takeover target, the rule being run over the company by rival pub operators, private equity firms, and property companies.
"There's a lot of interest around Young's and could be the next big deal in the pub sector" said a banker last week. Marston's, Greene King, and Punch Taverns are quoted as interested. Young's were keen to quash the rumours, but an insider said " no company is immune to a takeover, and if an attractive bid comes along, then who knows?"

Have a look at JHD on AIM, which is my largest holding, excellent share, steady growth, 3 special divi's in 3 years, consistent growth in dividends, good following on the JHD bulletin board, the shares are tightly held, and 60%+ owned by the Halstead family. An upbeat AGM statement last Dec.
Also look at CIC. No divi yet, but prospects very good. MCKS worth a look also. (Last 2 are on the main market). Just a couple of ideas. LHG
JHD website Have a look at the "about us" section.

Brakspear announces the withdrawal of its securities from PLUS, as JTD own almost 79% of the company. The withdrawal is expected to be effective on 2 February 2007.
It's now time to move on, I think, and look elsewhere to invest.

currently Deputy Chairman and Director of Production and Distribution, will be

The same things happened at HDYS, family retiring, etc., and there was a takeover in 12 months or so. Only Torquil Sligo-Young left as the only family member on the board. LHG
