Discovery shares don't react strongly until same discovery attacts a major. This one might.

Colin Bird, Executive Chairman said: "Drill hole BRDD-21-035 is the first hole to follow up drill hole BRDD-21-033, which was the discovery hole at Ascot, and has delivered one of the widest and highest-grade copper-gold intersections on the Bushranger Project. Importantly, Ascot appears to have enhanced levels of gold in comparison to the Racecourse Prospect and this further increases the potential of the Ascot prospect. Given Ascot's potential we are extending our Phase 2 drilling programme with the objective of defining the limits of Ascot. We also want to determine how Ascot relates to Racecourse, 1.5km to the north, and whether the region between the two intrusions is continuously mineralised as we suspect it could be. 2022 could not have started in a better way for Xtract given the results which the overall Bushranger Project continues to deliver."

The enhanced gold mineralisation in drill hole BRDD-21-035, suggests that Ascot and Bushranger are separate intrusions, and this enhances the overall potential of Ascot, which is potentially open in all directions. Furthermore, results reported by the Company in 2021 for drilling at the southern section of the Racecourse Prospect indicate that Racecourse is open to the south, opening up the possibility that there could be continuous copper-gold mineralisation in the 1.5km gap between Ascot and Racecourse. Xtract is extending the Phase 2 drill programme to test this hypothesis.

Bushranger Project Assay Results

The Board of Xtract Resources Plc ("Xtract" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the second drill hole (BDDD-21-035), drilled into the newly discovered Ascot Prospect, on the Bushranger porphyry copper-gold project in New South Wales Australia, has delivered a significant intersection of copper and gold confirming Ascot as a high potential discovery. Drilling is ongoing to define the extents of the Ascot intrusion and to better understand the distribution of copper and gold mineralisation.

If, using the expanded Racecourse dimensions, and the drill grades so far, someone can estimate the new resource, it would be poosible to use the existing scoping study to estimate a new NPV. That would point to a new valuation. Perhaps XTR has done it already,

TD

You seem sure about the 2 MT of contained copper. It would make for a high valuation
but others question that quantity and I haven`t been here long enough to understand and probably wouldn`t anyway.

Could you or Count add a little more on this issue/computation. TIA.

As stated previously I am only invested in one company, XTR.

The concentration will add weight to some risks but in my view the balance between the risk and reward of XTR is very positive.

Over the last 6 months the risks of not having a 2MT contained copper deposit have virtually disappeared and the share price has barely responded.

Not a problem, it will not be long. I would prefer that the price does not move until after the end of the tax year then I can shift another £20k into my ISA tax shelter.

Just like with copper, most of the worlds largest oil fields are now 50 or more years old. Ever heard of Ghawar? The jewel in the crown of the Saudi oil empire, it's now over 100 years old. The supply and demand situation is not looking good for oil, the price is going higher, much higher this decade and that means higher prices for many things. It is certainly not a short term problem.

The only good thing about higher oil prices, is that it a) motivates the world and governments to speed up the energy transition and b) the expensive green energy becomes more economically viable.

But the present oil price is a reflection of a few short term world problems, wars, gas shortages, etc etc !

But this time it's different:)) Joking. It's worth watching the recent interviews by the PANR management and doing some research on the company.

I was actually saying to someone the other day the very same thing, with oil companies you generally have a "one shot" very expensive drill, but with the miners you can have multiple drills and some can have nothing but it doesn't matter as long as some hit decent results. Different with the oil stocks and one reason I also prefer the miners. But, in a world where we are now close to 100 dollar oil they now have to be something in peoples portfolios, some oil stocks are/will pay excellent dividends and offer strong growth profiles. The outlook for the oil stocks is now better than it has been for a very long time. I am all for green energy, I really am, but this transition is going to be a bumpy one so why not profit from it:)

HaHa ! (not being unpleasant !) Hurricane Energy said something similar ! Good Luck

I've researched amd written about a no of 'promising' oil plays in the past. I decidede mining was more reliable !

PANR - 'Could' be about to prove up one of the largest oil finds in North America. Alaska still has billions of barrels of oil left to discover, so it's all quite possible and looking positive. Drilling starts soon.

Yes, Steve. Those folks should read Jesse Livermore.

I have also heard a few investors say they will never invest in AIM again over the years. Personally, as previously mentioned, I think we are in for a tremendous run and one hell of a ride in the exploration and resource sector over the next few years, I plan to fully take part in this. It's usually the point at which people capitulate that is the turning point. Look at some of the stocks like RSG, SHG and PUR, terrible performance, truly depressing if one has been a holder. But, as the PoG starts to turn those stocks are more than likely going to offer excellent returns for anyone buying now. These are just some examples on AIM. Look at the oil stocks, so cheap, especially when oil is probably going to 200 USD within the next few years. The commodity boom has yet to really get going. I would say to anyone saying they will never invest in AIM stocks again to reconsider, but pick your stocks very wisely.

I've noticed on a lot of chat groups that people are influenced by the price they originally paid for a share when deciding whether to sell, when in reality that is completely irrelevant. The question is whether the share you currently hold is more likely to increase in value over time than your other options. If your research shows a better candidate, then change stocks. An emotional attachment to money that has already been lost just results in bad decisions.

From my experience on AIM, I have had 1 big winner and several smaller losers. The big winner was a complete fluke/beginners luck. I am holding on to a few long term AIM shares that have been disasterous for me, more in hope than expectation and because the drop in those SPs has been so much it isn't really worth me selling. I plan to XTR through to the intended sale. After that I plan never to buy an AIM share again.

THre's also research that some 75% of AIM investors lose money overall. Don't know if there's a breakdown between investor types.

In 2014, Fidelty did a study of all their accounts over the last 10 years to see who were the best investors in general. It turned out the best investors were dead, or had forgotten or lost the details of their accounts. They performed well because they didn't overthink, get bored or try to time the market. I've certainly learned over time that doing research, choosing a stock and then sitting on my hands is the best strategy.

Agree Count. Its dangerous to keep flitting in here and out there looking for quick (here today gone tomorrow) profits. More often than not the MMs take all your money on every turn. I've always found it best to sit tight on something you're convinced about. Only caveat is 'if the facts change or look like changing then change your mind'. The facts at XTR are still evolving in the upwards direction.

Icebergs (lse) post regarding a possible valuation that could come about based on the Valmin code was around 5p ?
That is looking spot on ! I expect people have come to their own conclusions hence the sell off. Down we go again.
